WPA Sponsors UK Timber Fencing Championships 2023

The WPA were proud to sponsor the 2023 UK Fencing Championships - held at the Driffield Show on 19 July. 

 

The competition sees up to 10 teams of 2, compete to erect several metres of post and wire fencing, finished with a 5 bar gate - all in just 4 hours!  Teams are meticulously judged on technique and application throughout. This years winners were MJ Evans Fencing - look out for the August issue of Fencing News for all the details - Ben Walton did an amazing job of organising the whole event.

All the treated timber was donated by WPA member Calders & Grandidge. Fellow sponsors included AFI and WPA members Koppers, Arxada and Polesaver.

It was great to get out and meet everyone but if we missed you we're so sorry - it was quite a busy day! WPA Director, Janet Sycamore caught up with Mick Boe of Koppers - despite the brolly, the rain stayed off most of the day.
